Mi MIX 2S officially available in Malaysia from under RM2,000

Xiaomi’s top of the line full-screen flagship, the Mi MIX 2S is hitting Malaysia on the 1st of June. This is the upgraded version of the Mi MIX 2 that comes with a more powerful Snapdragon 845 processor and an AI-assisted dual-camera setup. For the budget conscious, you’ll be happy to know that it’s priced lower than the Mi MIX 2 at the time of launch.

Xiaomi Malaysia is bringing two spec options and they are priced as follows with 0% GST:

Mi MIX 2S 6GB RAM + 64GB storage – RM1,999
Mi MIX 2S 6GB RAM + 128GB storage – RM2,199

If you compare with China’s pricing, it’s actually cheaper in Malaysia. The 6GB RAM + 64GB storage is priced at 3,299CNY (about RM2,059) while the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage option is priced at 3,599CNY (about RM2,246).

The Mi MIX 2S will be available in Malaysia from 1st June and you can get it via the official Mi Store on Lazada as well as authorised physical Mi Stores and Mi Zones. The Black version will be available first and Xiaomi will introduce the White version at a later date.

The new MIX 2S retains the same 5.99″ 18:9 Full-Screen IPS display as the Mi MIX 2 that pushes a Full HD+ resolution. It also gets a ceramic back with a metal frame. Under the hood, the Snapdragon processor is mated with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM and has storage options of up to 256GB which isn’t expandable.

The dual-camera 12MP setup with OIS is also Xiaomi’s best camera yet and it scored 97 points on DxoMark, putting it on par with the iPhone X. For selfies, it gets a 5MP front-facing shooter that’s positioned at the bottom chin of the device. Powering the Mi MIX 2S is a 3,400mAh battery and it also supports Qi Wireless charging.
