Acer’s limited edition Avengers: Infinity War laptops are here in Malaysia

In conjunction with the premiere of one of the biggest movies of 2018, Acer Malaysia’s launching a set of limited edition Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War laptops.

Acer Aspire 6 Captain America Edition

Kicking things off, we’ve got the Cap. Acer’s limited edition Aspire 6 is decked out in blue with a slick set of decals including the Cap’s iconic star on the lid of the laptop.

This is a 15.6″ laptop that features an IPS LCD display pushing a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, also known as Full HD. Inside, it’s packing an 8th-gen Intel Core i5-8250U processor, 4GB of DDR4 RAM, a 1TB HDD and a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce MX150 GPU with 2GB of GDDR5 memory.

It’s also got 2×2 MIMO 802.11ac WiFi and a decent set of I/O that includes  a USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C port, a USB 3.0 Type A port, two USB 2.0 Type A ports, a HDMI port and an Ethernet port. There’s also a full-sized SD card reader which is always handy.

This limited edition laptop is priced at RM3,299.

Acer Swift 3 Iron Man Edition

Next up, it’s Iron Man’s turn. Tony’s new laptop comes in the form of a tweaked Acer Swift 3 that comes decked out in a colour that can really only be described as very red. Besides the colours and decal, the laptop also sports new glossy surface on top so the Iron Man logo can shine. It’s a little bit of a fingerprint magnet, but that’s what you get if you want bling.

Inside the all-metal chassis, the 14″ laptop is packing an 8th-gen Intel Core i5-8250U processor, 8GB of RAM, a 256GB SSD and an NVIDIA GeForce MX150 GPU. In Malaysia, the discrete GPU option was only available on the 15.6″ model but this limited edition variant changes that.

However, it is also a lot more expensive than the other Swift 3 models, coming in at RM4,399.

Acer Nitro 5 Thanos Edition

Finally, it’s time for the baddie. The Acer Nitro 5 Thanos Edition packs the most gaming punch of the lot and has, I think, the nicest looking decals. Designed to be a gaming laptop, the Nitro 5 Thanos Edition features an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 GPU with 4GB of GDDR5 memory.

It’s also got a 15.6″ Full HD IPS display, an Intel Core i5-7300HQ processor, 8GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD storage combo. For I/O, the Nitro 5 features the same kind of ports as the Aspire 6 Captain America Edition.

The Nitro 5 Thanos Edition will be priced at RM4,299.

Where to buy

All of these laptops are already available in the market but have limited stock. Acer told me that there should be enough of them to go around the whole country, including East Malaysia, though the laptops will only be on sale in selected Acer retailers nationwide.

Acer will also be giving away special Avengers 16GB USB flash drives and an Acer premium backpack worth RM399 with any purchase of these Avengers limited edition laptops from the 17th of April to the 30th of June.

If you want to see these laptops in person yourself, Acer Malaysia will be showcasing them at a four-day roadshow in Sunway Pyramid on the 26th to the 29th of April 2018.
