This is the right way to do a RED iPhone

UPDATE: You can now order the RED iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus in Malaysia

Apple has just announced its special edition iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus that comes in red. This is the second (PRODUCT)RED iPhone after the iPhone 7 and every purchase will help to make an impact in fighting the spread of HIV and AIDS.

Unlike the PRODUCT(RED) iPhone 7 which has a white front panel, the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus edition now uses black for the front. This is better in hiding the edges of the screen and it has a sleek all-black front when the screen is off.

In terms of hardware, the RED iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are identical to the standard version. Both are powered by the same A11 Bionic chip and it uses glass for the rear to supports wireless charging.

The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition will be available in both 64GB and 256GB storage capacities. It starts from $699 for the iPhone 8 64GB in the US, which is the same price as the standard model.

Pre-orders will be available starting tomorrow in first wave countries which include the US, Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore, and it will hit stores on Friday, 13th April 2018. For Malaysia, we will be getting it later in April. Online Apple’s official site, the iPhone 8 still retails for RM3,649 for 64GB and RM4,399 for the 256GB version. The larger iPhone 8 Plus is still listed at RM4,149 for 64GB and RM4,899 for 256GB.

Apart from the special edition red iPhone models, they have also released a (PRODUCT)RED iPhone X Leather Folio, Beats Solo3 Wireless On-Ear Headphones, Beats Pill+ Portable speaker and other accessories for the iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.

When you buy a (PRODUCT)RED device, a portion your purchase will go directly to Global Fund HIV/AIDS grants that will fund testing, counselling, treatment and prevention programs with a specific focus on eliminating transmission of the virus from mothers to their babies. Apple has partnered with (RED) since 2006 and they have donated over US$160 million to the Global Fund, making them the largest corporate donor.
