Xiaomi’s entry-level Redmi 5 and high-spec Redmi 5 Plus with 4GB RAM are now on sale in Malaysia

Xiaomi has finally introduced more variants of its Redmi 5 series in the Malaysian market. Whether you’re looking for something cheaper or for a device that packs more RAM and storage, Xiaomi has got you covered with a total of 4 models.

Initially announced with a single 3GB RAM + 32GB of storage, you can now get the Redmi 5 with 2GB RAM and 16GB of storage at only RM499. You get the same 5.7″ 18:9 HD+ 720p display and a Snapdragon 450 processor that’s based on an efficient 14nm processor. For imaging, it comes with a 12MP main camera and a front-facing 5MP selfie shooter. There’s also a fingerprint sensor and powering the device is a 3,300mAh battery.

Meanwhile, the Redmi 5 Plus is now available with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage at RM899. It has a 5.99″ FullHD+ display and it runs on a Snapdragon 625 processor. The cameras are similar and it comes with a larger 4,000mAh capacity battery.
