DJI Mavic Air leaked: A smaller Mavic Pro that can shoot in 4K

DJI is announcing a new drone tonight but it has been leaked extensively ahead of its big event. Similar to Apple’s MacBook naming convention, the new drone is called the Mavic Air and it’s supposedly lighter and smaller than the current Mavic Pro.

According to the purported spec-sheet from DroneDJ, the DJI Mavic Air is capable of capturing 4K videos at 60fps and still images of up to 32MP in panorama mode. It has a 3-way gimbal and 4 foldable legs which are similar to the current Mavic Pro.

The Mavic Air apparently comes with obstacle avoidance not just for the front and bottom, but for the back as well. There’s also Visual Positioning System (VPS) for better controls and indoor flying, and you can control the drone by gestures, similar to the DJI Spark. A full charge is claimed to provide up to 21 minutes of flight time which is pretty decent and it will come in various colours such as white, black and red.

All shall be revealed tonight at 11PM Malaysian time. You can catch the live stream here.
