The Full-Screen Sharp Aquos S2 is now available for pre-order in Malaysia

If you’re looking for a different mid-range smartphone that comes with a “FullView” display and a capable processor, the Sharp Aquos S2 is now available for pre-order in Malaysia. For those who are not familiar with Sharp, they do make smartphones and they are a pioneer when it comes to bezel-less designs.

The Sharp Aquos S2 features a 5.5″ Full HD+ display which pushes a resolution of 2040×1080. That’s the same resolution as the original Xiaomi Mi MIX with a 17:9 display aspect ratio. Unlike the Mi MIX, the front selfie camera is mounted on a top notch which is similar to Andy Rubin’s essential phone. The bottom chin is as thick as conventional phones as it comes with a front-mounted fingerprint sensor.

For those who feel that Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 processor is getting dated, the Aquos S2 runs on a newer Snapdragon 630 unit that’s mated to 4GB of RAM. Onboard storage is generous with 64GB on board which is also expandable via microSD.

For taking pictures, the rear gets an iPhone X-like dual-camera bump with a 12MP main camera and a secondary 8MP shooter for bokeh portrait shots. Over at the front, the Aquos S2 gets an 8MP selfie shooter with a large 1.4 micron pixel sensor.

Powering the device is a 3,020mAh battery which charges via USB Type-C. In terms of connectivity, it supports 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, VoLTE and 4G LTE in both FDD and TD bands. The device is running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat but it will be upgradable to the latest Android 8.0 Oreo.

This Full-Screen smartphone is priced at RM1,299 and it is on pre-order from today onwards. Stocks are expected to arrive on the first week of January 2018. As a pre-order promo, a couple of retailers are offering the device with additional free wireless Bluetooth sports headphones and a 5,200mAh powerbank.

If you’re interseted, the Aquos S2 is available in Black, Blue and White on Lazada Malaysia. It’s covered with 1-year Sharp Malaysia warranty.
