HTC’s mid-range U Play smartphone is now going for about half of its original price tag. Introduced early this year, this is their mid-range HTC U series smartphone that comes with a liquid surface exterior.
To recap, the HTC U Play features a 5.2″ Full HD display and it runs on a modest MediaTek Helio P10 processor. It’s mated to 4GB of RAM and has 64GB of onboard storage which is expandable via microSD on its second dual-SIM slot.
In terms of optics, it gets a 16MP f/2.0 main camera with OIS and PDAF, while the front gets a 16MP f/2.0 selfie shooter. Powering the device is a 2,500mAh battery which charges via USB Type-C. Like most new HTC models, it doesn’t come with a 3.5mm headphone jack. However, HTC is bundling a USB-C based USonic in-ear headphones out of the box.
Several months ago, the HTC U Play was going for RM1,499 with a phone trade-in offer. Now it can be yours at only RM999.
If you’re looking for something more capable, you can top up another RM399 for the HTC U Ultra. Originally priced at RM2,999, this dual-display flagship smartphone can be yours at only RM1,398 with DirectD’s current Mega Sale 2018. It packs a 5.7″ Quad HD display and it runs on a Snapdragon 821 processor with 4GB RAM and has 64GB of storage.
