The LG V20 can be yours for less than RM1,600

The LG V20 is probably the last flagship smartphone that comes with a removable battery. Launched in September last year, it was the first smartphone to come preloaded with Android Nougat and it went on sale in Malaysia just 5 months ago with the retail price of RM1,999.

If this multimedia-centric smartphone still appeals to you, you can get it now for RM400 less.

LG V20

As part of DirectD’s Mega Sale 2018. the LG V20 is now going for RM1,598. Despite being over a year old, the specs are still quite decent for today’s standards.

It has a primary 5.7″ Quad HD IPS display that comes with a secondary 2.1″ screen on top for notifications and shortcuts. Under the hood, it runs on a Snapdragon 820 processor with 4GB RAM and has 64GB of storage which is still expandable via microSD.

Moving towards the back, the V20 features a dual-camera system that uses a 16MP f/1.8 primary shooter for normal shots and a secondary 8MP f/2.4 unit for wide-angle shots. The cameras are assisted by EIS (Electronic Image Stabilisation) and DIS (Digital Image Stabilisation). Upfront, you’ll find a 5MP f/1.9 camera for selfies.

The V20 also comes with a 32-bit ESS HiFi Quad DAC with manual controls with LCF (Low Cut Filter) for audio recording. Powering the device is a 3,200mAh battery which is removable and it charges via USB Type-C. The device is also MIL-STD 810G compliant which makes it more durable against drops.

LG G6

If you’re looking for something newer, the LG G6 which was released in Malaysia sometime in April this year is now cheaper than before. DirectD is offering the G6 at RM2,298 or you can get it for as low as RM2,258 on Lazada Malaysia.

To recap on the specs, the LG G6 also has a 5.7″ Quad HD display but it’s smaller to hold thanks to its 18:9 FullVision display. Under the hood, it runs on a newer Snapdragon 821 processor and in the imaging department, it features a dual 13MP shooter at the rear and a 5MP selfie camera at the front. The 3,300mAh battery is not removable but the G6 has IP68 rated dust and water resistance.

Take note that the units listed here are official units with Malaysian warranty. Are these devices worth getting? Let us know in the comments below.
