These are the purported specs of the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus

UPDATE:: Xiaomi Redmi 5 series is now official.

Xiaomi will be revealing their latest Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus which now comes with an 18:9 Full View display. We already know how it looks like and now we get a glimpse of what goes under the hood.

From the purported leaked image above, the Redmi 5 pictured on the right is getting a 5.7″ 18:9 display and it runs on a Snapdragon 450 processor. Meanwhile, the larger Redmi 5 Plus is listed with a larger 5.99″ 18:9 display with a proven Snapdragon 625 processor. Both devices will come with 12MP cameras and it is worth pointing out that both processors are on based on a 14nm process for a more frugal operation.

Adding on from its TENAA listing, the smaller Redmi 5 will get a lower 1440×720 screen resolution and it could come with up to 4GB of RAM and up to 64GB of storage. The bigger Redmi 5 Plus appears to be on par with the current Redmi Note 4 as it is listed with 4GB of RAM and has up to 64GB of storage.

More details should be revealed by end of today and these are the biggest screens to be fitted on the budget Redmi series. The Redmi 5 is said to be priced from under 1,000 CNY which is about RM617. Stay tuned to us for updates.
