DJI has just released a new version of their DJI Goggles called the DJI Goggles RE, and they’re made for drone racers.
Looking a lot like a VR headset, the DJI Goggles RE (RE being short for Racing Edition) allows you to view from the cameras of your drone and lets you drive your drone with just your head movements when in head-tracking gimbal mode.
The new edition now comes in matte black with red leather on the headband, as opposed to the original’s white.
The headset is also compatible with non-DJI branded drones and flight controllers like the F3 and Naze from third-party makers. The Goggles also support Sphere panoramic viewing and video streaming with the OcySync Video Transmission Module, which has 12 transmission channels to reduce interference during racing, when there are multiple drones being pit against each other.
You also get the option to connect two pairs of goggles together so one more person can watch and control a drone along with you. The DJI Goggles RE will hit the market at the end of this month and will retail for $549 (about RM 2261). You can check it out in store here.
