iPhone X users can take 360-degree selfies on the Clips app

So, you got an iPhone X. And if you’re getting bored with Animoji, here’s another iPhone X exclusive feature that you can play with right now.

The Apple Clips app is now updated to version 2.0 and it comes with several new features including one that allows you to capture immersive 360-degree selfie videos.

With its new Scene feature, you can add dynamic backgrounds to your selfie videos that uses both augmented reality and TrueDepth cameras on the iPhone X. There are a total of 12 scenes available including two from Star Wars: The Last Jedi. To top it off, each scene even comes with its own unique visual effects and background noises. The feature can be useful in moments where you’ll need to record yourself in a not so ideal location.

Apart from the new Scene mode, the new Clips app has also been updated with more effects, stickers and soundtracks, and they have also redesigned the user interface for ease of use. If you use Clips on different devices, you’ll be happy to know that your photos and videos are now stored automatically to iCloud. This makes it possible for you to shoot a video on the iPhone and then you can finish it later on the iPad.

The updated Clips app is now available on the AppStore. It is compatible with the iPhone 5s, iPad Air and iPad mini 2 and above that runs on iOS 11.1 and above. The Selfie Scene is only available for the iPhone X while the style transfer effects are only available on the iPhone 7 and 2017 iPad Pro and above.
