Displaymate rates the iPhone X’s display with their highest score ever

Displaymate has rated heaps of displays, running from the displays on flagship smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, all the way down to that of the Apple Watch. They recently gave the iPhone X some pretty exhaustive tests and it seems to have come out on top.

That is, they gave the iPhone X a record high in its display performance, taking the crown away from last year’s iPhone 7. Displaymate doesn’t kid around when they say that the iPhone X has the best all-around display it’s ever tested, and here are some of the categories the phone matches or makes new records for:

While the iPhone X only did win a few categories, Displaymate did highlight its True Tone display, Nightshift and Mobile HDR, also giving the device an A+, which is a first for Apple’s mobile display. Its most likely the 120Hz touch refresh that Apple included in their iPhone X’s display that’s to attribute to the great performance rating.

Displaymate also stated that the “iPhone X is an impressive display with close to Text Book Perfect Calibration and Performance!!”

Apple already has a history for great displays, especially in the colour calibration department and this is just another feather in Apple’s hat.
