Lenovo is bringing another new mid-range smartphone to the Malaysian market with the Moto G5s Plus. Announced two months ago, it comes with a slightly bigger screen and a new dual-camera system that packs with several camera tricks.
According to Lenovo, the Moto G5s Plus will be priced lower than the original G5 Plus when it first launched at RM1,299. So, it could be priced very closely with the Xiaomi Mi A1. As a comparison, the current G5 Plus is now going for as low as RM999.
To recap on the specs, the Moto G5s Plus still shares the same Snapdragon 625 processor with 4GB RAM and 32GB of expandable storage as the normal G5 Plus. However, the screen is now slightly larger at 5.5″ and it pushes the same Full HD resolution as before.
Over at the rear, the Moto G5s Plus gets two 13MP f/2.0 cameras, one shoots in colour and another shoots in monochrome. With this dual-camera setup, you can add bokeh effects, background removal and selective black/white effects to your photos. Meanwhile, the front comes with an 8MP f/2.0 selfie camera that comes with its own dedicated flash. For more controls, there’s a pro manual mode for both front and rear cameras.
In terms of build, the Moto G5s Plus is much more refined than the Moto G5 Plus. It has a better full metal unibody finish which is similar to its sleek looking Moto M. The battery remains unchanged with a 3,000mAh battery but it does support Motorola’s TurboPower fast charging via micro USB. Out of the box, it runs on stock Android 7.1.1 with its built-in Moto Experiences.
The Moto G5s Plus Malaysian availability isn’t confirmed yet but it should go on sale sometime in November.
