Guess who’s next on the full-view slim-bezel tall smartphone bandwagon? Wiko’s just launched a pair of mid-range tall smartphones and they’re called the View and View Prime.
Of the two, the more expensive handset is the Wiko View Prime but even then it only comes in at RM1,199. For the money, you’re getting a 5.7-inch IPS HD+ display pushing 1440×720 pixels across an 18:9 aspect ratio screen.
Inside, it’s powered by a Snapdragon 430 processor mated to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It’s also got a 3,000 mAh battery that’s wrapped up in a metal body.
For cameras, Wiko’s doubling down on their selfie cameras with a dual camera setup in front. It’s got a 20MP+8MP camera system with a selfie flash for those crucial low light selfies.
On the View Prime, the secondary 8MP shooter does wide-angle photos and the image quality is pretty comparable to that on the ASUS ZenFone 4 Selfie. This dual camera system also gives the View Prime access to a portrait mode for your selfies.
It also does portrait mode when you use the wide angle 8MP selfie shooter if that’s something you want. Around back you get a 16MP camera for shots that are not of your face.
The View Prime will come in two colours — Black and Deep Bleen — and will be available for purchase in October.
If the View Prime is too far out of your budget, you can opt for the View instead. This smartphone costs RM899 and also comes with a 5.7-inch HD+ 18:9 IPS display up front.
Inside, though, things are a little different as smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 425 processor, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It’s also got a smaller 2,900 mAh battery keeping the lights on.
Camera also gets bumped down to a 16MP selfie shooter with a 13MP primary camera. You do still get the bokeh effects, though.
Both handsets are metal and come running Android Nougat out of the box. They’ve also got fingerprint scanners at the back for easy access into your handset.
View will come in the same two colours as the View Prime but with the addition of a Cherry Red colour variant too.
Like the View Prime, the View will be available for purchase at all Wiko authorised outlets in October 2017.
