For those who are looking for something different, here’s a very different flagship smartphone. While other smartphone makers are going for an all-screen bezel-less look, Meizu is taking a different approach by having two displays with their Meizu PRO 7. If you’re interested, it’s finally available for pre-order in Malaysia and you can pick it up this week.
The Meizu PRO 7 comes in two sizes. You have the standard PRO 7 with a 5.2″ Full HD Super AMOLED screen and a larger PRO 7 Plus that comes with a phablet-sized 5.7″ Quad HD Super AMOLED panel. The Meizu PRO 7 is powered by a MediaTek Helio P25 Octa-Core processor that’s mated to 4GB of RAM and has 64GB of non-expandable storage. Meanwhile, the larger PRO 7 gets a top of the line 10nm MediaTek Helio X30 10-core processor, 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage which is also non-expandable.
What makes the PRO 7 series different is its rear “fenêtre” display. It’s a 1.9″ AMOLED panel that does 240×536 pixels resolution. This can be used for notifications, media controls and it also doubles a viewfinder while taking selfies using the rear camera.
Both models get similar camera setups with dual 12MP Sony IMX386 sensors that are dedicated for colour and monochrome. For selfies, the PRO 7 series gets a 16MP f/2.0 front camera.
The Meizu PRO 7 and PRO 7 Plus are packing 3,000mAh and 3,500mAh batteries respectively which supports their mCharge charging technology via USB Type-C. Using its 5V/5A charging brick, you can charge the PRO 7 Plus from 0-67% in just 30 minutes.
The Meizu PRO 7 series will be officially available in Malaysia beginning 21 September at all authorised outlets nationwide. The 5.2″ Meizu PRO 7 is priced at RM1,899 while the PRO 7 Plus is priced at RM2,799. Each purchase will come with a Meizu premium gift box worth RM199 while stocks last.
Pre-orders are now available and they are offering a pre-order package that comes with a Meizu Bluetooth earphone E51 (worth RM299) for the PRO 7 while the PRO 7 Plus comes with a Premium gift box and Bluetooth earphone E51 (worth a total of RM498). To place your pre-order, you can head over to Lazada Malaysia.
