You can now pre-order the Apple iPhone 8 in Malaysia

Apple‘s new iPhone launch took place just yesterday with the company announcing the iPhone 8/8 Plus and the iPhone X. Today, it appears you can already place your pre-orders for the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus on Lazada.

Well, that is if you don’t mind getting an imported set from Hong Kong. Lazada vendor Wow Phone has put up two entries on the e-commerce website taking pre-orders for the brand new iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. Two storage variants are available for each handset — 64GB and 256GB — with three colours each. Now, comes the most painful part — their prices.

For the iPhone 8, Wow Phone is listing it at RM3,999 for the 64GB model with the 256GB model going for a whopping RM4,799. On the other hand, if you want to get your hands on the iPhone 8 Plus, you will have to be prepared to pay RM4,599 for the 64GB model and 5,399 for the 256GB model.

According to the entries on Lazada, the estimated time for arrival is set for the 24th of September which is just over a week from today.

Keep in mind that these are imported sets from Hong Kong and not local units so you might only be able to make warranty claims from the shop you buy it from. For better peace of mind we always recommend that you buy official Malaysian sets which should hit our shores very soon.

These “AP” sets usually also have their prices marked up to astronomical amounts, as you can probably tell since the 64GB iPhone 8 is the same price as a Samsung Galaxy Note8. We don’t think the official prices will be quite this high. We reckon it will be closer to these prices instead.
