After revealing their Mi A1 smartphone earlier this week, Xiaomi will be announcing not one but two new models tomorrow at Beijing. The main highlight is the successor of its radically designed Mi Mix as shown above. It is probably the first flagship phone in recent times that started the whole all-screen bezel-less obsession.
Xiaomi’s Co-Founder and President, Lin Bin, had also recently revealed that a bigger Mi 6 will be making its debut at their upcoming event.
The second device will be called the Mi Note 3 and it will succeed the current Mi Note 2 that was also launched alongside the original Mi Mix last year. The Mi Note is Xiaomi’s flagship phablet series that often come with a bigger 5.7″ display.
When the Mi Note 2 was released in Malaysia, it was their most expensive phone yet at RM2,499. It has a dual-curved 5.7″ AMOLED display and comes with 128GB of storage. For the new Mi Note 3, it appears that Xiaomi is taking things down a notch which would probably bring its overall price down.
According to a new leak, the Mi Note 3 will be running on newer mid-range Snapdragon 660 processor instead of a top of the line Snapdragon 835 unit. From the picture above, the Mi Note 3 gets 6GB of RAM and comes with 128GB of storage. There are no details yet on the screen and we think Xiaomi might use a flat screen to keep its price low.
It will also feature a dual-camera lens that’s similar to Mi 6, while the front gets a 16MP selfie camera. Like the Mi 6, the Mi Note 3 is purported to come without a 3.5mm headphone jack but a USB Type-C to 3.5mm adapter will be included in the box.
We will be there at the Xiaomi event so stay tuned to us for the latest updates. The event is happening at 2PM on 11 September 2017.
