The Samsung Galaxy Note8 will be available for pre-order in Malaysia starting from next week on 5th September 2017. Retailing at RM3,999, the Galaxy Note8 will be offered with RM888 worth of rebates and freebies during the 6-day pre-order period.
Until now, Samsung Malaysia has yet to reveal its official availability on our shores. With just a week away from the pre-order, participating telco, Maxis, has revealed the time and date of when you can collect your brand new Galaxy Note8.
To gauge your interest, Maxis has just published their Galaxy Note8 page online with its typical registration of interest and how you can prepare for its upcoming online pre-order. When we comb through the page links, it appears that Maxis has published the standard T&C for the Note8 Pre-order promo which seems to be applicable to all pre-order partners.
While the pre-order is running between 5-10 September, the collection for Galaxy Note8 pre-order is listed to start on Monday, 18th September at 10:00am until 24th September at 10:00pm. When it comes to securing a unit, a RM300 deposit is required which will be paid via iPay88 payment gateway. During the collection day, you’ll just need to pay a balance of RM3,378 which is after deducting the RM321 cash rebate. Of course, if you are getting it from Maxis, you’re likely to pay the bundled price (contract) along with upfront payment (if any) when you place your pre-order next week. Like its past device pre-order, we expect Maxis to ship the device directly to you or you can opt to pick it up at a Maxis centre near you.
The T&C also mentions that the Galaxy Note8 pre-order campaign is limited to 10,000 units nationwide.
To recap on the pre-order promo, Samsung Malaysia is giving away a one off cash rebate of RM321, a 5,100mAh power bank and a Samsung Protection Plus plan which gives you 1-year extended warranty plus 1-year accidental screen crack protection. Do note that the T&C published on Maxis website is dated 22 August so there’s a small chance that this might be updated again when the pre-order starts. As a comparison, the Galaxy Note8 will be available in the US and Singapore starting on 15 September 2017.
