They call us the Selfie Generation and I’d love to say no, but everywhere I look, all I see are people taking selfies. So I guess it’s not that surprising that smartphone manufacturers these days are doing everything they can to capitalise on this psychological need that has ingrained itself into this generation’s mind.
OK, maybe psychological need was a little melodramatic, but the fact remains that companies like vivo are launching way more selfie-centric devices than probably anyone saw coming…and people are buying them by the bucketload. In any case, if you’ve ever been someone who wants to get their hands on one of vivo’s ‘Perfect Selfie’ V5s and V5 Plus handsets, this may be the best way to do so.
The Chinese company recently announced that they’re partnering with Senheng Malaysia to put their smartphones in every Senheng outlet nationwide. To commemorate this partnership, vivo is offering Senheng customers a bunch of extra goodies when the purchase either the vivo V5s or V5 Plus smartphones from now until the 30th September 2017.
These goodies include free 1-year extended warranty, a gift pack that contains a Selfie Kit and car holder, Senheng’s Mobile PAYBACK starter pack and a bunch of purchase-with-purchase accessories. What’s more, the first 500 AEON EP members get a complimentary Bluetooth headset worth RM89. Further, credit card holders can opt for a 24-month 0% payment plan too.
To recap specs, the vivo V5s is a 5.5-inch device with an HD 720p display in front, a MediaTek MT6750 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage (expandable) and a 3,000 mAh battery. It’s got a 13MP rear camera and a 20MP f/2.0 selfie shooter in front.
On the other hand, the vivo V5 Plus comes sporting a 5.5-inch Full HD display up front, a Snapdragon 625 processor inside mated to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage with a 3,160 mAh battery keeping the lights on. For photography, you’ve got a 16MP rear camera plus a 20MP+8MP dual-camera combo in front for selfies.
Right now, the vivo V5s is on sale in Senheng for RM1,299 while the V5 Plus is going for RM1,499.
