Huawei teases a new smartphone with possibly four cameras

Following the release of Huawei’s selfie centric Nova 2 series, they are about to introduce a newer model to step up its photography game. If having a 20MP front camera isn’t enough, here comes a more inciting model.

Based on the #OOOO teaser above, it seems that Huawei is implying that their upcoming nova smartphone will come with two sets of dual-cameras – one for the front and one for the rear. If you’ve been following Huawei flagship smartphones since the P9, they have been using the #OO hashtag to refer to its Leica co-developed dual-camera system.

There’s no mention of Leica in this teaser but Huawei might incorporate some of its learning into this new photography centric model. There’s hardly any details of the phone right now and we can expect Huawei to drop more clues in the weeks to come.

At the moment, their current nova 2 offering in Malaysia is their top of the line Plus model. The Huawei nova 2 Plus is priced at RM1,999 and it comes with 128GB of storage. In the photography department, it gets a dual camera setup at the rear which comprises of a 12MP main and 8MP telephoto lens, while the front gets a 20MP shooter.
