OPPO reduces its R9s and A77 pricing in Malaysia

Ahead of the Raya holidays, OPPO has revised its pricing for two of its smartphones, the R9s and A77. To make the R9s truly yours, they are also offering a free personalised laser engraving service.

OPPO R9s

The OPPO R9s is now going for RM1,798 instead of its previous pricing of RM1,828. This is actually its original pricing before it was increased a few months later.

To recap, the R9s is a photography-centric smartphone that comes with a 16MP f/1.7 main camera with dual PDAF focusing technology. It gets a 5.5″ Full HD AMOLED display with a full unibody metal design. It runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor that’s mated to 4GB of RAM and has 64GB of internal storage. The R9s is a dual-SIM device with a hybrid SIM slot which accepts a microSD card on the second slot.

For selfies, it gets a 16MP f/2.0 front camera with a host of beautification features. Powering the device is a 3,010mAh battery that supports VOOC Flash Charging.

Buyers of OPPO R9s are also entitled to free laser engraving if you purchase online via OPPO Online Store, Lazada, 11street and Shoppee. You can engrave your preferred text in English up to 15 characters (including spacing) or in Chinese up to 8 characters. This offer is valid until 28 June 2017.

OPPO A77

Meanwhile, its affordable alternative, the OPPO A77 is getting a RM100 cut from RM1,398 to RM1,298. It gets a 5.5″ Full HD display and it runs on a MediaTek MT6750T processor. Similar to the R9s, it has 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage which is also expandable via microSD.

For taking pictures, it gets a 16MP f/2.0 front camera while the back gets a 13MP f/2.2 camera with PDAF. The battery is slightly bigger at 3,200mAh and it charges via micro USB. If you plan on using dual-SIMs, you’ll be happy to know that the A77 comes with a dedicated microSD and two individual SIM slots. Both the R9s and A77 are running on OPPO’s custom ColorOS 3.0 skin that’s layered on top of Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
