Samsung launches their brand new QLED TVs in Malaysia

Early this year, I got the chance to geek out at Samsung’s impressive lineup of consumer electronics but by far the most stunning things on display were their QLED TVs. Well, if you’ve been eyeing them since then, there’s good news: Samsung Malaysia just launched an entire lineup of QLED TVs.

There will be six different models to choose from with sizes ranging from 55 inches all the way to the massive 88-inch monstrosity. Prices start at RM12,999 (more details below) and Samsung will be throwing in some special rewards if you purchase selected models during their 6-day roadshow at Mid Valley Centre Court.

If you pick up the RM22,999 65-inch QLED curved TV (Q8C model) you will receive a free month of the 12-month easy payment plan with Harvey Norman, vouchers worth RM888 for Samsung products at Harvey Norman, and a 2-year extended warranty worth RM3,133 from Harvey Norman. On the other hand, if you opt for the larger 75-inch QLED curved (Q8C model) for RM36,999, Samsung will throw in a brand new Samsung Galaxy S8+ for free.

But why would you pick QLED over any of the other display standards? Well, as far as image quality is concerned, QLED provides a viewing experience that’s pretty close to OLED so you would get great dynamic range, contrast and colours will absolutely pop. One added benefit is that QLED doesn’t suffer from degradation and burn-in like traditional OLED panels do.

This is because QLED technology is built on top of Samsung’s Quantum Dot technology and was developed by adding an alloy layer to the individual quantum dots. This allows the TV to display an improved range of colours with much moe detail. It’s capable of reproducing 100% colour volume — the first TV in the world to be able to do that.

Each TV also comes with Samsung’s One Remote that’s like a universal remote for all your devices so you don’t need to have multiple lying around. What’s more, the QLED TVs have a big emphasis on style and blending into your home seamlessly. As a result, Samsung’s new TVs also support their new no-gap wall mount and a single optical cable for better cable management.

Here are all the models that will go on sale here in Malaysia:

QA55Q7FAMKXXXM — RM12,999
QA65Q7FAMKXXXM — RM19,999
QA65Q8CAMKXXXM — RM22,999
QA75Q7FAMKXXXM — RM35,999
QA75Q8CAMKXXXM — RM36,999
QA88Q9FAMKXXXM — RM99,999

Samsung is also collaborating with Iflix to offer 12 months of free iflix subscription with any purchase of a 2017 Samsung Smart TV from 16th May to 30th June 2017.

Not a fan QLED? Well, Samsung’s also having a one-day-only sale of their MU6100 UHD TV. The 55-inch TV will go on sale at 36% off, bringing the price down to RM2,999 for 200 units. Once those are sold, the TV will return to its regular RM4,699 price tag, but Samsung will throw in an RM500 Harvey Norman voucher applicable to Samsung products only. More info here.
