The new special edition OPPO R9s proves that Black is back

This post is brought to you by the OPPO R9s Black Edition

Earlier this month, OPPO Malaysia released a black edition of their new OPPO R9s camera-centric smartphone. Today, we unbox it in all its matte black glory. Here’s what you get.

OPPO’s R9s is a pretty solid smartphone. It’s got a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display in front that looks pretty good. Inside, it’s powered by a 14nm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor mated to 4GB of RAM. Since you’re going to be taking a whole bunch of photos, the smartphone comes with 64GB of internal storage that you can further expand via a microSD card.

Speaking of taking pictures, you now come to the piece de resistance of OPPO’s new handset — its cameras. The primary camera at the back features a 16-megapixel f/1.7 aperture camera with a Sony IMX398 sensor. It’s also got Dual PDAF autofocusing technology for some seriously fast focus times. In front, you’ve got a high-resolution 16-megapixel f/2.0 aperture selfie shooter.

Giving your smartphone juice is a 3,010 mAh battery. This smartphone also supports fast-charging via OPPO’s VOOC Flash Charge technology. VOOC is probably one of the fastest fast-charging standards available in the market right now so you’ll have your handset topped up in a jiffy.

Other creature comforts include a ridiculously fast fingerprint scanner as well as that sexy black anodised metal body which feels really premium in the hand.

Interested? OPPO’s R9s Black Edition is now available for purchase at RM1,828 nationwide at authorised OPPO Concept Stores, authorised electronic chain stores, e-commerce outlets and partner telcos. For more information, head on over to OPPO’s online store.
