Right after the official Malaysian launch of the Galaxy S8, Celcom has announced an easy instalment program for the latest flagship smartphone. The Galaxy S8 retails for RM3,299 (inclusive of 6% GST) but you can get it from as low as RM145/month on Celcom EasyPhone.
The EasyPhone instalment program is applicable to all Celcom FIRST Postpaid subscribers without an existing device contract. Unlike other instalment offers, there’s no credit card needed. During sign up, an upfront payment is required but this is waived for existing Celcom customers with good payment history.
For better peace of mind, there’s an optional device protection add-on which covers your device from damage and theft for an additional RM30/month. The monthly instalments for the Galaxy S8/S8+ are as follows over a 24-month duration (excluding subscription fee):
Samsung Galaxy S8 – RM145/month
Samsung Galaxy S8 with Device Protection – RM175/month
Samsung Galaxy S8+ – RM165/month
Samsung Galaxy S8+ with Device Protection – RM195/month
If you prefer to swap phones every year, Celcom’s NewPhone will be available for the Galaxy S8/S8+ beginning 26 May 2017.
The standard contract plans are also available with Celcom FIRST Gold Plus and FIRST Platinum. The bundle pricing is the same as their pre-order offer and they are also tied with a 24-month contract. To recap, FIRST Gold Plus plan gives you 40GB of data (20GB all-day + 20GB weekend) for RM98/month, while FIRST Platinum comes with 60GB of data (30GB all-day + 30GB weekend) for RM150/month.
Between 5 to 7 May, Celcom is doing a 3-day promotion where you can get free return Uber rides to your nearest Blue Cube centre. On top of that, they are also opening a special priority lane for customers to get the Galaxy S8/S8+ and a chance to receive a special mystery box. If you’re lucky, your mystery box might give you the chance to purchase a Galaxy S8 at only RM888.
According to Celcom’s CMO, the Galaxy S8/S8+ will take full advantage of their new Lightning Fast LTE Advanced network with 4×4 MIMO and 256 QAM. This will be rolled out beginning August in the Klang Valley and it promises speeds of over 400Mbps.
