The Xiaomi Mi 6 is a compact flagship smartphone that packs incredible value, but it would probably take months before it arrives in Malaysia officially. If you can’t wait to get your hands on a new Xiaomi flagship device, it appears that Xiaomi will be offering the Mi Note 2 on our shores very soon.
In a teaser above, it shows what appears to be two pieces of glass with curve edges. What’s more interesting is the caption which mentions “Mark this on your note, not once but TWO times or more!”. We might get this wrong but we are guessing that this is likely to be their flagship phablet, the Mi Note 2.
Announced in October last year, the Mi Note 2 is their first flagship smartphone with a curved glass display. Similar to the Note7/Galaxy S8, it uses 3D glass for both front and back. Upfront it gets a 5.7″ Full HD OLED display and it runs on a Snapdragon 821 processor. There are two spec options available – 4GB RAM + 64GB storage or 6GB RAM + 128GB storage. For the Malaysian market, we are likely to get the lower spec option first.
For imaging, it gets a 22.56MP Sony IMX318 main camera with EIS, while the front gets an 8MP selfie shooter. Powering the Mi Note 2 is a large 4,070mAh battery and it has support for QuickCharge 3.0 fast charging technology via USB Type-C.
In China, the Mi Note 2 is priced at 2,799RMB (about RM1,775) for the lower spec version and it is priced at 3,299RMB (about RM2,093) for the higher spec variant. For those who can’t wait, grey importer DirectD is currently selling the Mi Note 2 from RM2,199. Whatever this device is, it will be officially revealed on Thursday, 27 April at 12PM.
UPDATE: Lazada lists Mi Note 2 as their new arrival product for their pay day promotion. Thanks Ben for the tip!
