OPPO’s compact selfie-centric smartphone is coming to Malaysia

OPPO Malaysia is introducing another “Selfie-Expert” smartphone for the Malaysian market. If the current 5.5″ smartphones are too huge for your liking, the upcoming OPPO A57 might be the selfie-centric smartphone you’re looking for.

The OPPO A57 is a compact smartphone with a 5.2″ HD 720p IPS display that comes with Gorilla Glass 4 protection. It runs on an Octa-Core Snapdragon 435 processor with 3GB of RAM and it has 32GB of onboard storage that’s expandable via microSD.

Being a selfie-centric device, it carries a 16MP f/2.0 front camera that’s enhanced with its Beautify 4.0 software. For single handed selfies, it has hand gesture controls and you can add bokeh effects for a more dramatic look. Over at the rear, it gets a 13MP f/2.2 main camera that’s assisted with PDAF.

The OPPO A57’s home button also comes with OPPO’s lightning-fast fingerprint sensor which unlocks instantly at a touch. Powering the device is a 2,900mAh battery and out of the box, it runs on ColorOS 3.0 that’s based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

OPPO Malaysia has yet to announce its availability and pricing but we reckon it should be priced around the RM1,000-RM1,200 mark like its OPPO F1/F1s series.
