The Moto Z series is probably the best example when it comes to modular smartphones. The implementation is sturdy and you can hot swap various Moto Mods without having to restart your phone.
Now it appears that Lenovo is working on a new successor and it’s going to be called the Moto Z2.
Not surprisingly, serial leakster @evleaks had tweeted what appears to be the logo of the new Motorola flagship. This is consistent with its current naming convention like its current Moto G5 and G5 Plus. Apart from the model name, there are no details of its hardware and launch date at the moment.
What we do know is that Lenovo would continue to support its Moto Mods on their next Moto Z lineup. If you’ve invested on their snap-on powerbanks, speakers, projectors or camera, you’ll be able to use them on the Moto Z2. It’s safe to assume that the new Moto Z2 will retain a large round camera bump like the current Moto Z and Moto Z Play.
The current Moto Z was revealed in June 2016 and it finally arrived in Malaysia during the final quarter of 2016. If you haven’t seen it yet, do check out our Moto Z review over here.
