Alcatel’s new smartphone has four cameras

You’ve seen dual-cameras at the back and most recently there are phones with dual-cameras at the front. If you want to have it all, Alcatel has a new mid-range smartphone that comes with not two but four cameras.

Manufactured by TCL, this four-camera smartphone was speculated to be the successor of the Flash Plus 2. Somehow that plan didn’t materialise and the Chinese manufacturer has finally released it as the Alcatel Flash.

It has a 5.5″ Full HD IPS display protected by Dragontrail glass and it gets a brushed metal back along with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Under the hood, it runs on a 10-core MediaTek Helio X20 processor that’s mated to 3GB of RAM along with 32GB of on-board storage. If you need more space, you can expand it via microSD up to 128GB extra.

In the photography department, the rear gets a pair of 13MP Sony IMX258 cameras which is similar to Xiaomi’s Mi 5s Plus and LG G6. One 13MP camera shoots in RGB while the other 13MP unit shoots in monochrome. Both gets a f/2.0 aperture lens and it’s assisted by PDAF and dual-tone LED flash.

Over at the front, it gets an 8MP main selfie camera that’s accompanied by a 5MP secondary shooter for bokeh effects. For better selfies, the front camera also gets a dual-tone LED flash and PDAF.

The Alcatel Flash comes with a 3,100mAh non-removable battery and it charges via USB Type-C. It’s also a dual-SIM 4G LTE device with support for both FDD and TDD-LTE bands. Out of the box, it runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. So far there is no mention of its availability and pricing.
