Sony Xperia XZs and XA1 are now official in Malaysia

Just only a month after its announcement at MWC 2017, Sony has finally introduced its new Xperia XZs and Xperia XA1 smartphones in Malaysia. These are the latest from Sony’s new Xperia X series which aims to take photography to the next level.

Xperia XZs

The Xperia XZs is officially priced at RM2,899 in Malaysia. As an early bird promotion, those that pre-order will get an SBH80 Stereo Bluetooth Headset, UCH12W Quick Charger and a transparent silicon case with tempered glass worth RM697.

The Xperia XZs is an incremental update to its current Xperia XZ flagship. It is still keeping a 5.2″ Full HD display and a Snapdragon 820 processor. However, it gets more RAM at 4GB and it has the latest 19MP Motion Eye camera that’s capable of shooting 960fps slow-mo videos. The rest of the specs are similar as the standard XZ with a 13MP f/2.0 front camera, a 2,900mAh battery, USB Type-C, IP68 dust and water resistance.

Xperia XA1

The Xperia XA1 is the most affordable model in the new Xperia X series. Like the original XA, it has a 5″ HD 720p display with a near bezel-less appearance. Under the hood, it gets an updated Helio P20 processor that’s mated to 3GB of RAM and has 32GB of storage on board.

You get a higher resolution 23MP Exmor RS main camera while selfies are taken with an 8MP front camera. It still retains a tiny 2,300mAh battery and it charges via USB Type-C. For Malaysia, the Xperia XA1 is priced at RM1,199 and Sony Malaysia is throwing additional pre-order freebies which includes a DK60 charging dock, a transparent silicon case and tempered glass worth RM268.

Pre-orders for both devices will begin starting tomorrow 29 March until 9 April 2017. You may pre-order your unit at selected Sony Stores, Sony Mobile Stores, Sony Centres, authorised dealer or via 11street. The higher end Sony Xperia XZ Premium and XA1 Ultra will be introduced to the Malaysian market later this year.
