Dato’ Sri Mohammed Shazalli Ramly appointed as TM’s new CEO

TM has announced Dato’ Sri Mohammed Shazalli Ramly as its new Managing Director/Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with effect from 1 May 2017. This is followed by the retirement of its current Group CEO, Tan Sri Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa.

In addition, TM has also appointed its Executive Director/Group Chief Financial Officer (GCFO), Datuk Bazlan Osman as their new Executive Director/Deputy Group CEO effective 1 April 2017. Its current Financial Controller, Nor Fadhilah Mohd Ali will take over the duties of the the Group CFO from 1 April until the appointment of its successor.

TM Chairman, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Sulaiman Mahbob has expressed his highest gratitude to Tan Sri Zam for his contribution at TM during his tenure. During Tan Sri Zam’s and Datuk Bazlan’s leadership, TM had achieved multiple milestones which include the demerger exercise in 2008 and the roll out of High-Speed Broadband project.

Prior to his new appointment, Dato Sri Shazalli was the Regional CEO and Corporate EVP for Axiata Group Berhad. He was promoted to the role from his previous position as Celcom Axiata’s CEO back in September 2016. He was also once the CEO of NTV7 and had also served under Unilever and ASTRO.

Interestingly, Axiata has yet to announce Dato’ Sri Shazalli’s retirement as regional CEO and this further fuels rumours of an impending merger.
