ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom is now available in Malaysia

Announced during CES 2017, the ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom is now officially available in Malaysia. This replaces the previous ASUS ZenFone Zoom and it comes with a dual-camera set up that has 2.3X Optical Zoom.

For the Malaysian market, we are getting the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage model which priced at RM2,099. That’s the same price as its predecessor but the old ZenFone Zoom came with 3X Optical Zoom and 128GB of storage.

In terms of specs, the new ZenFone 3 Zoom gets a 5.5″ Full HD AMOLED display and it runs on a Snapdragon 625 processor. The battery is much bigger with 5,000mAh capacity but yet it maintains a slim 7.99mm profile. It uses USB Type-C and you can use it as a powerbank as it supports reverse charging. There’s also a rear fingerprint sensor which unlocks at a single tap.

In terms of optics, the ZenFone 3 Zoom uses a pair of Sony 12MP IMX362 sensor. Similar to the iPhone 7 Plus, the secondary 59mm lens is used for zooming. The main camera has f/1.7 aperture, Dual-Pixel PDAF for quicker focus and it is assisted with OIS and EIS. For better colour accuracy, there’s even an RGB colour correction sensor and low light shots are enhanced with its SuperPixel Engine. Meanwhile, the front gets a 13MP camera for all your selfie needs.

This is a dual-SIM device and it also comes with microSD expansion using its 2nd slot. It will support 4G LTE in both FDD (1,3,5,7) and TDD (38,39,40) Bands. The ZenFone 3 Zoom with official ASUS Malaysia warranty is available now as listed by DirectD.
