webe broadband is now offering a 4G LTE MiFi modem without contract

In case you didn’t know, webe is also offering wireless broadband over 4G LTE. Initially available as a SIM-only plan, the new mobile operator is finally offering a MiFi modem which you use to share the connection with up to 10 devices.

To recap, there’s only one webe broadband plan which costs just RM59/month for 10GB of data. As a limited time promo, they are offering additional 20GB data which gives you a total of 30GB each month. Unlike its earlier promo, webe will be offering the free extra data until further notice. If there are any changes to this promotion, webe promises to inform all subscribers at least 30 days in advance.

Do note that this is a data-only plan so you won’t get any voice or SMS service. If you plan on using this on a phone or tablet, you can enable WiFi hotspot with no extra charges. Upon depleting your allocated monthly data quota, speeds will be throttled to 128kbps.

The MiFi on offer is a Huawei E5377 which is going for RM210 without a contract. It has a 1.45″ TFT LCD display and it supports 4G LTE in FDD-LTE (800MHz, 850MHz, 900MHz, 1800MHz, 2100MHz and 2600MHz) bands with Cat4 speeds (150Mbps). Speed-wise, it’s a notch below the E5786 that’s being offered by Digi.

The MiFi can connect up to 10 devices with 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi and there’s a microSD slot which allows you to share files across your devices. With a 1,500mAh battery, the E5377 is rated to last up to 6 hours of use and up to 300 hours in standby (with WiFi switched off).

If you’re interested, it will cost RM263 (inclusive of RM53 upfront fee) upon sign up and webe is also offering next working day free delivery if you get it online. For more info, visit webe’s broadband page.
