Fake Samsung Galaxy S8 is already on sale ahead of its official launch

China is still notoriously known for its bad knock-offs. Before the Samsung Galaxy S8 breaks cover at the end of this month, the upcoming device has just gotten itself ripped off in record time.

The device shown here was spotted in China and it’s a poor attempt at copying the Galaxy S8. The front display is huge but it doesn’t curve or hide the bezels as well as the real deal. The lock screen interface looks like a previous generation TouchWiz and it’s missing an extra button that’s supposedly used for Samsung’s new virtual assistant feature.

Over at the back, the new fingerprint sensor and heart rate sensor have swapped places. From the recent leak, the new fingerprint sensor is placed on the right while the heart rate sensor is located to the left.

There’s no mention of the source of the phone but we won’t be surprised it came from GooPhone, a company that’s notorious for ripping off flagship Galaxy and iPhone models. Knowing that the iPhone 5 was to be a larger iPhone 4S, the same company had once patented the iPhone 5 design in an attempt to block Apple from selling the real deal when it was released in China.

As expected with any knock-offs, the device will run with inferior hardware to keep its cost low. If you spot an offer that’s too good to be true, then it probably is. As usual, it is best to get your new device from a reputable source with official local warranty. The Galaxy S8 event is happening on 29 March and it could go on sale a month later on 28 April 2017.
