After the launch of the Galaxy A (2017) series, Samsung Malaysia appears to be launching the Galaxy C9 Pro next. If the Galaxy A7 2017 isn’t big enough, this smartphone might just be your cup of tea.
Instead of glass, the Galaxy C9 Pro comes with a full metal unibody and it features a large 6.0″ Full HD display on a Super AMOLED Panel. For a more upmarket feel, it gets a 2.5D glass in front while the back has micro-slit antenna bands that look similar to the OPPO R9s. Under the hood, it runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 Octa-core processor that is mated with a whopping 6GB of RAM.
Internally, it has 64GB of storage which is expandable up to 256GB extra with a dedicated microSD slot. It’s also a dual-SIM device supporting 4G LTE on both FDD and TDD bands as well as 802.11ac 5GHz WiFi. In the photography department, the Galaxy C9 Pro uses 16MP f/1.9 cameras for both front and back.
Since it’s a large device, it also comes with a generous 4,000mAh battery. Like the Galaxy A 2017 series, it uses USB Type-C and it supports fast charging which claims to push a full charge in 100 minutes. The Galaxy C9 Pro also comes with stereo speakers, that utilises both the earpiece and down-firing loud speaker.
We don’t know when is the release date for Malaysia but we reckon it could be sometime next month before the Galaxy S8 is announced. Based on the photo taken from what appears to be a dealer event, the Galaxy C9 Pro will be priced at RM2,299 and it comes in Gold, Pink Gold and Black colours.
