Xiaomi’s Redmi 4A is now on sale in Malaysia for RM449!

This is it! We’ve got another brand new Xiaomi budget device to kick off 2017 and this is the most affordable smartphone the company has on sale in Malaysia today. Yep, it’s their new Redmi 4A and here’s how you can get your hands on one.

Xiaomi’s Redmi 4A was launched in November of last year alongside its brother the Redmi 4. This new Redmi 4 line succeeds the old Redmi 3 budget smartphones which form the entry-level segment of Xiaomi’s smartphone lineup.

In Malaysia, we’re getting the Redmi 4A. This smartphone comes with a Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor that’s mated to 2GB of RAM and 16GB of on-board storage. This storage is further expandable via a microSD card slot that can take cards up to 128GB in capacity.

Besides that, you also get a 5″ HD 720p display (giving it 294 ppi) up front as well as a 13MP primary camera and a 5-megapixel selfie shooter. Both cameras come with f/2.2 aperture lenses. Keeping the device running is a 3,120 mAh battery, which is pretty decent for this size and screen resolution, that charges via micro USB.

Before the Redmi 4, the most affordable smartphone Xiaomi had on sale in Malaysia was the RM599 Redmi 3S. You can still buy the Redmi 3S but the biggest difference between the two is that the 3S comes with a fingerprint scanner and a Snapdragon 430 processor instead.

Xiaomi’s Redmi 4A can be purchased from the Mi Store on Lazada.my for RM449 and will come in two colours — gold and rose gold. The device is sold and fulfilled by Lazada and it comes with their 100% Buyer Protection and Satisfaction Guaranteed certifications.
