Samsung will be announcing the Galaxy A (2017) series next week and Malaysia is among the first wave countries to get it. The Malaysian launch is happening on the 5th January and we now have more details on its pre-order promo. Read on for the full details.
A tipster had sent us the above image which appears to be a pre-order ad for the new Galaxy A (2017) series. For Malaysia, it looks like we are getting just the Galaxy A5 (2017) and the Galaxy A7 (2017) in the first phase. The Galaxy A5 is listed at RM1,699 while the bigger A7 is priced at RM1,899. As a comparison, last year’s Galaxy A5 (2016) was priced at RM1,599 and the Galaxy A7 (2016) at RM1,899.
To sweeten the pre-order deal, Samsung Malaysia is giving away a Level U PRO wireless headset worth RM399 while stocks last. Pre-orders will start from Friday, 6th January until 15th January 2017. Samsung could be offering pre-orders online, but the listed URL isn’t working at time of writing.
The official specs have yet to be revealed but we expect the Galaxy A5 (2017) to come with a 5.2″ Full HD display, an Exynos 7880 processor, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of on-board storage. It is also said to come with 16MP cameras for both front and back, and it would also get dust and water resistance with IP68 certification. No details yet on the Galaxy A7 but we reckon it should have at least a 5.5″ Full HD display.
Take note that we can’t verify the source and we will get more details on the launch day next week. Stay tuned to our Facebook and Twitter for more updates.
