With just two weeks away until CES 2017, ASUS has just released its teaser video for its upcoming Zennovation launch event. Now we can confirm that they would be launching not one but two new ZenFones to kick off 2017.
The first device would be the replacement of the ZenFone Zoom. As seen on the first image above, it carries the infinity symbol which is used in their current “Zoom” branding.
Instead of a 3X optical zoom mechanism, the new ZenFone Zoom could be using a dual camera lens at the rear. It is likely to have a similar system as the iPhone 7 Plus where it has a secondary telephoto lens for optical zoom.
The second device is likely to be the ASUS ZenFone AR. This would be their first smartphone to utilise Google Tango’s Augmented Reality technology.
Just like the recently launched Lenovo PHAB2 Pro, it would carry multiple rear cameras which help with motion tracking and depth sensing. With Google Tango, the smartphone would be able to map your environment in real time and it opens up new gaming and utility possibilities.
