Before the year is out, Lenovo Malaysia wants to end the year with a bang. They will be introducing two new products – the Yoga Book and the PHAB2 Pro with Google’s Tango technology.
The Yoga Book is a futuristic looking 2-in-1 convertible tablet which is part laptop and part sketchpad. On one end, it gets a 10.1″ Full HD IPS display while the other half comes with a touch-sensitive surface that’s powered by Wacom. It can be a keyboard with its virtual keys or you can have the whole surface as a writing pad. Accompanying the Yoga Book is a stylus that has 2,048 levels of pressure sensitivity.
On the inside, it runs on an Intel Atom x5-Z8550 processor with 4GB of RAM and it has 64GB storage. The Yoga Book comes with two variants – Windows 10 and Android 6.0. Keeping the lights on is an 8,500mAh battery that is rated to last 15 hours.
The next device is the Lenovo PHAB2 Pro smartphone that focuses on augmented reality. It is the first smartphone to use Google Tango technology. It has 3 cameras at the rear and along with its motion sensors, the PHAB2 Pro can map your surroundings in real time. With Tango, it opens up new possibilities like trying out furniture arrangements virtually based on your room dimensions or play augmented reality apps with better accuracy based on your surroundings.
In terms of hardware, the PHAB2 Pro is quite a huge phablet with a 6.4″ Quad HD display. It runs on a Qualcomm Octa-Core Snapdragon 652 processor with 4GB of RAM and it has 64GB of storage. In terms of optics, it front gets an 8MP camera while the rear gets a 16MP main camera with additional 2 shooters for depth and motion sensing.
For better audio recording, it also gets Dolby Audio Capture 5.1 which claims to record 360 degree sound. The PHAB2 Pro has a fingerprint sensor at the rear and it gets a rather large 4,050mAh battery with Turbo Charging supported. In the US, both the Yoga Book and PHAB2 Pro are priced at US$499 which is about RM2,220. We will be there at the launch which is happening on 7th December, so stay tuned to us for the latest updates.
