Huawei Mate 9 Pro and Porsche Design variants are coming to Malaysia next month?

For those who feel that the current Huawei Mate 9 with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage isn’t your cup of tea, you might want to wait a little longer. With Huawei Malaysia started pre-orders for the Mate 9, it looks like 3 more variants are coming soon to our shores.

Based on an image shared by MDroid, the Huawei Mate 9 Pro and its more premium Porsche Design Mate 9 will be heading to Malaysia on 22 December. We can’t tell where it is taken but it looks like an internal presentation to dealers.

If the above presentation slide is to be believed, the Mate 9 Pro will be priced at RM3,199 (4GB RAM + 64GB storage) and RM3,399 (6GB RAM + 128GB storage), while the Porsche Design model (6GB RAM + 256GB storage) will be going for an insane RM6,999. As a comparison, the current Huawei Mate 9 is officially priced at RM2,699 and it comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage.

The Mate 9 Pro and the Porsche Design edition are considered as the premium version of the Mate 9 and they come with a 5.5″ dual curved AMOLED display pushing a higher Quad HD resolution. The Porsche Design Mate 9 was first announced alongside the standard model and it carried a whopping 1,395 Euro price tag which is about RM6,512.

The Porsche Design Mate 9 also gets better specs with 6GB RAM and 256GB of storage. Under the hood, you’ll find the same Kirin 960 Octa-Core processor along with the same dual-camera 20MP + 12MP combo as its standard Mate 9. Another major difference is that the fingerprint scanner is located at the front. Keeping the lights on is a 4,000mAh battery which supports Huawei’s new SuperCharge.

For those who wants the same phone without the posh label and price tag, Huawei had also announced the Mate 9 Pro. It is basically the same phone as the Porsche Design edition but it gets less RAM and storage. In China, the Mate 9 Pro is priced at 4,699CNY (around RM2,985) and 5,299CNY (RM3,366).
