The ZTE Axon 7 mini is now available in Malaysia. Announced during IFA 2016, this is the compact version of its Axon 7 flagship smartphone.
The Axon 7 mini retains the same appearance as its bigger brother with a metal unibody design. The front gets a 5.2″ Full HD AMOLED display that comes with a smooth 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 4. Instead of a Snapdragon 820 processor, the Axon 7 mini runs on a modest Snapdragon 617 processor with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage on board. If you need more storage, you can pop a microSD card (up to 128GB) on its hybrid dual-SIM tray.
ZTE is boasting flagship audio experience with this device. It gets a pair of front-facing stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos enhancement. For imaging, it gets a 16MP Main camera with PDAF while the front sports an 8MP shooter. There’s also a fingerprint sensor for easy unlocking right at the back of the device.
The Axon 7 mini comes with a 2,705mAh battery which supports Quick Charge 2.0 via USB Type-C. It is rated to replenish 50% charge in just 30 minutes. Out of the box, it runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Similar to its bigger flagship, the ZTE Axon 7 mini comes with a privilege protection plan. It comes covered with 2 years warranty plus one-time screen (6 months) and water damage (24 months) repair coverage. It is officially priced at RM1,399 and it comes with a free TPU case and screen protector. As a comparison, the 5.5″ Axon 7 is priced at RM1,999.
