Digi switches on VoLTE for crystal clear calls

Digi has finally jumped on the VoLTE (Voice over LTE) bandwagon which promises higher voice quality and quicker connectivity. It is now available in areas that are covered by Digi’s 4G LTE network.

As demonstrated before, VoLTE offers higher definition voice calls and you can get connected quicker than the standard circuit-switched voice network. Usually, if you make a phone call, connectivity will drop down to 3G but this isn’t the case with VoLTE. Since your calls are delivered on 4G, you can talk while maintaining high-speed 4G connectivity at all times.

At the moment, Digi’s VoLTE service is only available for the iPhone which includes the iPhone 6 and above. Just make sure you’re on the latest iOS 10.1 software update which can be checked under Settings > General > Software Updates. To enable VoLTE on your phone, head over to Settings > Mobile Data > Mobile Data Options > Enable 4G and choose “Voice & Data.

The call charges will follow your current rate plan, so it’s free if you’re on a postpaid plan with unlimited calls. For more info, head over to Digi’s VoLTE page.
