Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016) with S Pen now available in Malaysia

Samsung’s new productivity tablet, the Galaxy Tab A (2016) is now available in Malaysia. It’s a 10.1″ tablet that comes with an S Pen stylus.

Priced at RM1,599, the front 10.1″ display pushes a 1920×1200 WUXGA resolution and it runs on an Octa-Core 1.6GHz processor (likely Exynos 7870) with 3GB of RAM. Storage is quite small at 16GB onboard but it is expandable up to 256GB extra via microSD. The back gets an 8MP f/1.9 main camera that shoots full HD videos while the front sports a 2.0MP selfie unit. The S-Pen gets a ribbed design that comes with its own silo. Like the Note7, the S Pen also supports screen off memo, hover on translation and the ability to create animated GIFs from your videos.

For children, the Galaxy Tab A (2016) gets a special Kids Mode 4.0 that offers a customised child-friendly environment. This is also an LTE enabled device which supports 4G LTE on both TDD and FDD bands. Powering the device is a 7,300mAh battery which is rated to last up to 13 hours of video playback. Overall it weighs 558 grams with a thickness of 8.2mm.
