Dual-cameras are here to stay, at least, as far as honor is concerned as the company just revealed a brand new smartphone that features two primary cameras at the back. It’s called the honor 6X and is stated to be the successor of their budget honor 5X.
Launched in China earlier today, the honor 6X features a 5.5-inch Full HD display and a metal unibody much like the handset it succeeds. Inside, however, the smartphone gets a nice upgrade with a Kirin 655 processor with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage.
If that storage isn’t sufficient, you can further expand the dual-SIM smartphone’s memory with a microSD card. Unfortunately, it utilises a hybrid SIM tray so you’ll have to give up a SIM slot to do so. Keeping the smartphone running is a 3,340 mAh battery.
Moving on to the camera, you’ll find a dual-sensor primary shooter setup at the back featuring a 12MP sensor and a 2MP sensor that’s designed to give you shallow depth of field and a blurry background. In front, the honor 6X sports a generous 8-megapixel selfie snapper.
As far as software is concerned, the handset will be running on Android Marshmallow out of the box with Huawei’s EMUI 4.1 running on top. It will also feature a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, in true honor fashion, as well as have support for 4GB LTE connectivity.
The smartphone will come in 3 colours — gold, silver, grey — and will be priced at CNY999 (around RM622) for the 3GB RAM/32GB storage model and CNY1,299 (around RM809) for the 4GB RAM/32GB storage model, and CNY1,599 (around RM995) for the 4GB RAM/64GB storage model. The device is available for pre-order today in China and will go on sale on the 25th of October. So far, there is no information on whether this handset will make its way to Malaysia. That said, it seems quite likely that it will, based on honor’s track record.
