Digi Easy Up lets you buy a phone and upgrade to a new one every year

Digi is finally jumping on the annual phone upgrade bandwagon with its new Easy Up offering. Similar to Maxis Zerolution and Celcom NewPhone, the program is tied to a 24-month instalment plan but you have the option to swap to a new phone after 12 months. If you do accept the upgrade, your original 12-months installments will be waived and you’ll start again with a new 24-month cycle. This allows you to constantly swap phones every year without the hassles of trade-ins.

At the moment, Digi is only offering 2 phone models on Easy Up with the Samsung Galaxy A7 and the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge. Unlike Maxis and Celcom, Digi is only offering a single postpaid option that gives you unlimited calls and SMS, plus 20GB of data for a single monthly fee of RM198/month. For the Galaxy S7 edge, you’ll need to add additional RM70/month which brings the monthly cost up to RM268. That’s one price for device and plan all-in.

The plan also comes with 4GB of internet roll over, 100GB of capture cloud storage, unlimited music streaming (Digi Music Freedom) as well as unlimited WhatsApp and WeChat messaging.
If you opt for auto-billing, Digi is giving a 5% discount off your total bill for the first six months.

To ensure that you won’t get any damage penalties when upgrading, Digi is recommending a device protection plan via Mobisure. For a phone that’s valued between RM2,000-RM3,000, it would cost RM330 for 12 months protection. If you decide not to upgrade, you can continue paying for the remainder of the 12 months instalments. You may stop your Easy Up program half way but you are required to pay the remainder of your device’s full recommended retail price divided by the number of remaining months.

At the moment, this Easy Up offer is only available for existing Digi customers which will be invited by SMS. If you’re selected, you can take up the device without any upfront payment required. At the moment, Easy Up is available at Digi Store Sunway Pyramid, Bangsar Shopping Centre, BBT One Tower, Pulau Tikus and Danga Bay. To learn more, head over to Digi’s Easy Up page.
