The most secure Android smartphone has arrived in Malaysia

BlackBerry has just announced the DTEK50 smartphone for Malaysia. Dubbed as the most secure Android smartphone in the world, this is their new mid-range Android device with BlackBerry’s suite of security apps and features.

In terms of hardware, it has a 5.2″ Full HD display and under the hood, it runs on a Snapdragon 617 processor with 3GB of RAM. On-board, it has 16GB of storage which can be expanded via microSD up to 2TB.

It also gets a 13MP f/2.0 main camera while the front has a 8MP f/2.2 selfie shooter. Powering the device is a 2,610mAh battery that charges up quickly via QuickCharge 2.0. It also gets 4G LTE, 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2 and NFC.

What makes the DTEK50 truly secure is BlackBerry’s quick response in providing rapid security patch. The built in DTEK app also helps to monitor your smartphone OS and apps for any security risk, and provide recommendations to improve security. For greater peace of mind, the DTEK50 smartphone has FIPS 140-2 compliant full disk encryption to ensure that your private data including photos and personal details are protected at all times.

The BlackBerry DTEK50 is officially priced at RM1,339 and it is distributed by Brightstar Malaysia. You can find the full list of BlackBerry dealers over here.
