Hailed as the most secure Android smartphone, the BlackBerry DTEK50 is finally rolling out in Malaysia. This is BlackBerry’s new mid-range full touch screen smartphone that runs on Android operating system. Pre-orders are now open at 11street with stocks expected to arrive on 30th September 2016.
The DTEK50 is priced at RM1,339 in Malaysia and it comes with a 5.2″ Full HD display that claims to be both scratch and smudge resistant. It is powered by a Snapdragon 617 processor mated with 3GB of RAM along with 16GB of expandable storage. There’s a microSD slot that supports up to 2TB of capacity.
For optics, the DTEK50 gets a 13MP f/2.0 main camera with dual-LED flash and PDAF, while the front sports an 8MP f/2.2 camera that has its own flash light. Keeping the lights on is a 2,610mAh battery which supports QuickCharge 2.0 via a standard microUSB port. It also supports 4G LTE along with faster 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2 and NFC. Like the BlackBerry PRIV, it runs on Android out of the box with its own suite of security apps and features.
