We have seen a couple insane gaming laptops that are obsessed of delivering desktop gaming performance. At IFA 2016, Acer has just introduced a gaming laptop of epic proportions with its new Predator 21 X. This is Acer’s new flagship gaming laptop and it comes with a massive curved 21″ display.
The display is an IPS panel that pushes a wide-screen 2560×1080 resolution with NVIDIA’s G-Sync technology. Being curved, it promises a more immersive gaming experience and Acer is topping that further with an integrated Tobii eye-tracking technology. Using both hardware and software, it tracks a gamer’s eye for a new form of interaction. Imagine being able to aim, identify enemies or take cover by simply gazing at specific spots on your screen.
Under the hood, it gets the latest 7th generation Intel Core i7 processors along with two NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphic cards in SLI. It supports up to 64GB of DDR4 RAM on 4 DIMM (2400MHz) slots and up to 4TB storage with SSD. For audio playback, it gets a SoundPound 4.2+ system which consists of 4 speakers and 2 subwoofers. It keep things cool during intensive gaming, the Predator 21 X has 5 integrated fans for better thermal management.
The Predator 21 X has a mechanical keyword with Cherry MX switches which are illuminated with RGB backlight. The numeric keypad on the right can also be flipped over to turn it into a precision touchpad. According to the spec sheet, it weighs a colossal 8kg. There’s no pricing yet but Acer says that pre-orders for the Predator 21 X will be open in time for Christmas.
