Xiaomi is holding a launch event next week and it’s going to be a big one. Held at Beijing’s National Convention Centre, they are opening ticket sales at 199 CNY. It has been said that Xiaomi will be unveiling its new Redmi Note 4 and yet another all new product.

According to speculations, the Redmi Note 4 is likely to be their first product to be announced with a dual-camera set up. It should retain a similar 5.5″ display and it’s possibly running on Mediatek Helio X20 or Snapdragon 652 processor. Since the Mi Max was just launched two months back, it might take a while before they announce the successor of the Mi Note.

The Redmi Note 3 was announced in November last year, it’s probably the right time to introduce another affordable mid-range device for the 2nd half of this year ahead of its massive singles day sale on 11.11. For Malaysia, we only got the Redmi Note 3 three months ago which is rather slow compared to the Chinese market.

Apart from the new Redmi Note, word has it that Xiaomi could be announcing an affordable notebook with an Intel Atom processor. Xiaomi has been rumoured for the longest time of making a “MacBook” competitor and we feel that it is unlikely to happen. Then again if Xiaomi could release anything from home appliances to foldable bikes, is there anything they can’t do?

We’ll find out more on 27th July.
