Capture moments that matter with the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge

This post is brought to you by the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge

Hari Raya Aidilfitri is a beautiful time of the year. The sights and sounds of festivities during the Raya season are second to none and are often a prime time to capture intimate memories that last a lifetime.

But, like many festivities, a lot of what makes Hari Raya Aidilfitri a visually stunning celebration takes place at night where light is scarce and it becomes difficult to capture moments with your run-of-the-mill smartphone camera.

Until now, that is. Now, you have one of the best smartphone cameras in the world at your disposal with Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge.

Smartphones, and their cameras, have come a long way since their inception. These days, their optical prowess can rival even some DSLRs and mirrorless systems in image quality but the biggest thorn in the smartphone’s side has been low light performance. It was always incredibly difficult to cram large apertures and large light-sensitive sensors into a slim form-factor.

Samsung, though, have managed to do it with their latest crop of flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. Although these smartphones have incredible imaging performance with sharp and vibrant photos in daylight, they really start to shine in the dark.

The Galaxy S7 and S7 edge come with Dual-Pixel 12MP camera sensor which is the world’s first in a smartphone. On other devices, the standard image sensor utilises less than 5% of its pixels for phase detection auto focus. On the latest Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, every single pixel is used and it comes with two photodiodes that makes auto focus significantly faster even in dim lighting conditions.

To take low-light photography to a higher level, it gets an incredibly large f1.7 aperture. With the lower the f-stop number, the more light is allowed into the camera sensor to ensure brighter and sharper photographs. Combine the two killer camera features of Dual Pixel and f1.7 aperture, high quality images are captured no matter the time of day or location.

Rest easy and capture the most stunning and picturesque scenes of the beautiful oil lamps that decorate your garden. Freeze the emotion and dedication that your family members put into creating classic dishes like Lemang and Dodol late into the night. Snap print-worthy shots of the children in the family as they help with decorating the house before festivities begin.

On top of the Dual Pixel sensor and f/1.7 aperture, the cameras on the two smartphones are launched blazingly fast. A simple double tap on the home button brings up the camera app in an instant within 0.7 seconds, ready for you to point and shoot.

But, we get it, sometimes single photos simply aren’t enough to preserve the energy and atmosphere of a moment. That’s why the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge have “Motion Panorama” built into them, which allows you to capture movement and scenes in a wide, seamless panorama shot. Slide over the panorama and watch in amazement as the images come to life in front of you as if you were right there in the moment itself. It’s almost magical.

So, what are you waiting for? Make this festive season a memorable one with the Samsung Galaxy S7 (RM2,699) and S7 edge (RM3,099). As part of Samsung’s Raya promotion, get a free wireless charger stand and enjoy 30% off on a Gear VR when you purchase a Galaxy S7 or S7 edge from 23 May until 17 July 2016.
