Samsung Galaxy S7 edge Olympic Games Edition is now official

In conjunction with the upcoming Rio 2016 Olympics, Samsung has released yet another special edition smartphone. As seen earlier, the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge Olympic Games Edition is now official and it will be available in selected markets from 18 July 2016.

Like the Galaxy S7 edge Injustice Edition, the hardware is identical as the standard Galaxy S7 edge with a 5.5″ Quad HD AMOLED display, Exynos 8890 processor, 4GB RAM and a 12MP main camera. To commemorate the biggest sporting event, it gets a customised theme and extra details on the exterior. The limited edition phone also comes in a nice exclusive box but it doesn’t seem to pack any extras like a case or a Gear VR headset.

Representing the 5 Olympic ring colours, the metal frame comes in stealth black while the home button and earpiece get yellow colour details. In addition, the volume and power buttons are coloured green and red respectively, while the rear camera and heart rate sensor has a blue colour frame.

The S7 edge Olympic Games Edition will be made available in Brazil, China, Germany, Korea and the US. So far there’s no mention if it will be coming to Malaysia. In case you missed it, check out our hands-on with the Galaxy S7 edge Injustice Edition.
